Last analyst... for the moment!

Hello bloggers, it’s Ana here again, but this time is the last one… I am a little bit sad, because taking into apart all the stressful moments this subject has given to us, we have laughed a lot and had a good time.

But well, let’s focus on the last week of work. This time we have to discuss about the leadership team at school and we did a kind of debate in class, so we had to chose which has performed the best, we were not one of those, but personally I think that we did it quite well and also we had a difficult situation because we were the first who had to talk.

For me the best moment of the week was this last time at class, was our last grouped work together and it is going to be hard not to come running to the university on Monday to be on time. Maybe the worst moment (as always) was to choose a day to prepare the activity because we had to be focused also in the portfolio so we had to change some of our plans... but as I have said it was going to be the last time, so we had to be more flexible, in terms of timetable if it could be.

This activity has been maybe not easier than the rest of the activities but it has been more “interesting” because we are really close to the elections so making the profile of Fakebook has been interesting as well as funny. As I have said before maybe the worst part as always has been look for a moment to spend together.

Personally I think that is one of the things we have to improve for other subjects. Working in groups is never easy in these terms but I think that we have improved a lot since the beginning even thought we have to continue improving.

Analyzing the situation

Hello everybody! 

This week I am the analyst again. I think this is one of the most important roles because you have to analyze everything your colleagues have done in order to complete the activity and you have to pay attention all the time because you must evaluate them the better as you can.

This week has good things and moments but also bad parts or moments too, as the previous weeks. However, I think that this week has more good moments than bad moments.

First of all, on Monday every group had to create a conflict. Our conflict was about Pablo, a eleven year-old boy, who behaves badly because of a problem in his house. Teachers believe that the behavior of his parents reflected a violent situation between them.

With this conflicts, we had to create a piece of news in which the star was the reporter of the news. In our case, we did the conflict of Power Teachers which is about a P.E teacher who committed sexual abuse to his female students.

As always, we had the same problem… We did not agree about the hour and the day in order to meet and do the activity because everyone have different schedules. So, after arguing and suggesting everything we thought in order to everybody of the group could go, at last we decided to meet on Wednesday.

In my opinion, our problem is that we are always complaining about wasting time if we met but, I think we waste more time deciding because we have to dedicate time to this subject no matter what…since we have to spend much time if we want to pass it so, it is a reality and we have to accept if we have to spend the whole afternoon doing the activity. This is a thing we have to improve…

Moreover, we had a problem with the activity because in every Coexistence Plan we read we found students-students conflicts, always against children. Luckily, our colleague, María found the Coexistence Plan of the law in which specify every kind of conflicts.

On the other hand, there were not only bad things, but also there were really good things. For example, we had really fun recording the video especially when we have to record the advertisements which are really funny thanks to our good actress Lucia (our star). We could not stop to laughing with the outtakes too so, we had a blast J.

In addition, another good thing is all the things we have learnt with this activity. We have learnt what is the Coexistence Plan, every school have a different one and this is an important thing to know if it is a good school or not. We have learnt how to sort out many types of problems because we have also seen the videos of the other groups and they have different conflicts…

I think our video is a good one because we have included in the video many perspectives: the mothers of the some victims, how this problem is seen from outside (a mother who have just had a baby and know the school very well), the tutor and the headmaster. If we did not include the victims perspective was because we think they are affected and they are underage. Therefore, this is a thing that we have to conserve because we spent time wisely in order to do the activity the best as we could.

To sum up, I think this activity is really useful for our future as a teachers because it will help us in order to a better solve the problems we can have with other teachers, students and parents at the school.

Analyst!

Hi bloggers! I am María and my role this week is Analyst, as the first week of this subject.

The previous one was more difficult for me personally speaking, due to it was the first time I evaluate others and even more, myself.

Indeed, the work of this week is quite different from the previous weeks due to we are all, preparing questions, answers, and everything to be able next Monday to play the game. In which two of us will play against the other groups, and the winner, will get extra points.

On Thursday our group plus the half of  Itschool, decided which 10 questions of all about topic 6 were the better to play with in the play.

This week every member of the Power Puff Teachers, was active,  taking part on selection of the better questions for the play.  Even I have to say that I am very proud of  us due to we are the winners of the last contest!!! (*.*).

I have to say that is so weird, not having work from SOYER; I mean, not having to meet the whole group to work in a concrete task at home, but as it is said, everybody can get used to good life, and the good things finish soon.

So, have as minimum the same happy week as us and see you soon :)

Analist post

Hi everyone!

I'm Mari Carmen again!! For seventh week I was analist.

This is our second week working on the legislation of the spainsh education in order to prepare a version of a classic game about this issue.

We divided the 24 questions among seven, and one person did one more question for four topics  so that all of us could did the same amount of questions. Then holidays came. This periods are quite a dissaster for organizing gatherings because each one has her own plans due to vacations.

Days went by. We met on our first sky gathering as working group, but we did two groups because of schedules. It was my first time using it and I really liked the convenience and rapidity on this tool, I just love it! In just one second we were connected with our mates.  We put in common our four questions since when a work is revised by several people there's more possibility to correct something, make more accurate and clear questions,.... than when there's just one head. Then Murcia city's hometown group members take the charge of do the phisical cards for the game: one gathered group questions and shape the cardboard, other printed the questions in the specific measures, and other two cut and stick questions on cardboards -we divided cardboards and question papers in two, and I stick second pack part-.

Then for class returning we had whole class monday session. We had to evaluate, according to a same criteria one topic's cards. As my group was "native" last week we had to split in two, some worked with Itschool on topic 6 while the other half were with Platypus assessing topic 3. I feel like it turn out quite difficult to follow the same criteria for all the group's cards, despite it keep always our intention, but it is just my sensation. It is always hard to arrive to a complete agreement in everything. But somehow this make us learn much more than what we could ever learn on a theorical way with a explation. It much more meaningful if you live it (every week).

Apart from  class mates working -that you couldn't believe how much have make me grow up- the idea of laying out something as bored and tiresome as a new educative legislation -that will surely change by the time we were teachers, but that will be the same in essence-  as a familiar game to us. This make us read the law to reach another objective -win the game- and by the way read, reread and start knowing it in an enjoyable way.

LET'S GO TO ANALYSE

Hello everybody!
My name is Carmen Carpena and this week I am the... ANALYST!!
I have realized that this role is too complicated because I have to analyse all the members of the group every day, their work, their attitude... everything, and it is very difficult.

As you know, this week we have had to do a mindmap, I mean, a diagram with the information summarize, in this case is about the spanish educational laws: the LOE and the LOMCE.
I have realized that there is the last week before Easter holidays and it seems like yesterday when we were in the first class of SOyER and we were really scared because we did not know what we were going to do. At first, we found it very difficult but the weeks passed and we were more confident with ourselves and the scare started to decrease little by little... In fact, I think this subject not only teaches us in the way of the information, it teaches us also to have more confidence in ourselves and to work in group and have a good organization.

In this activity we have learnt the contents of these educational laws and what are the differences between them. Also, we have learnt how to do a good mindmap and how to summarize well the information. In addition, I think we have learnt how to have a good organization in the group because we have divide the work in a very good way.
The worst moment in the week was when we realized that we had done the work bad and, after all the labour we had done, we had to change it and restructure all the contents we had in the mindmap. It was a very bad new for all of us.

I think the contents we have had to do in this activity are very related with our degree because we are going to be teachers and all good teacher have to know the educational laws because we are going to be subjected by this laws and it is important that we start to know them.

Moving on, in my opinion we have to improve somethings as a group. We have to trust us more, I mean, I think we should be able to talk sincerely with someone. If any member of the group has a problem with other member or if someone has done anything that have had feel bad other member, we have to be able to talk with him/her and explain what is the problem.

I am very sure that in the next week we will solve these problems!

Analysis of our week

Hello everybody I am Ana Góngora (yes, I know, again…)

We are near to Holy week and so on this time I had to be the analyst of my group. Personally as weeks past I have realized that EVERY role has a difficult part and so this one has it. I have to evaluate the work of my group so I had to observed carefully and now think about what I am going to say.

As you know, this week we had to do a video summarizing all the content we have learn during these hard weeks. If I have to remark a moment of this activity for me was to realize and be proud of all the work we have done. I can perfectly remember the first day of this subject when we didn’t know our teacher and we were frightened about what we had to do! After these moments, we had to look for a lot of information we had never heard about: TPACK, map projections, blogger, good presentations... And now, we are perfectly able to explain all these knowledge to almost everyone! Now we don’t want to stop learning anymore.

The problem is that not everything is like in a fairytale... we had bad moments this week too, because it was SO DIFFICULT to found how to show everything in a short video. We spend lots of hours doing a type of “brainstorming” trying to look for the best one when finally our colleague Inma did it!

Apart from that the BIG problem was nearly to appear when we were at Maria’s house (the place where we met this week) and it was 10 o’clock at night so we had to stop working and try to continue in another moment, but almost half of our are not from Murcia (even myself) and we couldn’t stay here during the weekend because it is our only time to see our family. So our facilitator told us to be in Skype in order to help those components who stay during the Saturday doing the work. Finally we realised that Moovly can only be used in one computer, so nothing could be done... Next week (as always) we have to be conscious of the time needed in terms to finish the activity properly... IT IS THE MOMENT FOR THE CHANGE!

But not everything is bad... c’mon we have to be realist, we have a good cohesion in our group, and most of the times we get on really well...obviously we have some problems like everybody but we talk and solve them with no problems. Every time we have to do a new activity is an afternoon (or more) with lot of laughs (LOL)

If you think that this content has no relation with reality you are really mistaken, during this weekend while I was having dinner I heard a new that was talking about Flicker. I opened my eyes and ears as much as I could because I had never use this social network before working in the 20 tips of doing a good presentation and learning about Creative Common and this fact had surprised me.

I have really enjoy doing this post because I had to remember everything and apart from the bad things, good things came to my mind and make me laugh.

EVALUATION TIME WITH THE ANALYST!

Hello everybody! I am Inma Álvarez and this week it is my turn to be the analyst of my group.
I am getting closer to know all the roles there are in this subject. At the moment I have been star, curator-farmer, facilitator and analyst and I am always surprised with echa role. I always imagine the role different as it really is.
The main thing the analyst have to do is to evaluate each member´s work and to talk about the most important events of this week.

From my point of view, the best part of the activity was when we dressed up in order to take the photos about "Little Red Riding Hood". It was incredible how we took the photos without planning anything. We had to improvise but in spite of that we had a good time and we took a lot of lovely photos.

However, as in every week, we have a worse part of the week... we met on Tuesday in order to do the activity and we expected to finish it in just a day because it was more difficult to us to meet another day. Nevertheless, we decided to do a comic instead of a info-graphic so, the work we did on Tuesday was not useful.

Although on Thursday we used our time wisely and we could do the activity really good, next time we are going to try to do the activity in just a day because we waste our time if we meet more than once in a week. This is our next challenge!

One of the best part of this week is all we have learnt. Every week we learnt something new, but I think that in this activity we have learnt a lot of things in a attractive and funny way.
In my opinión, this activity is really interesting because it is about books, the only method our teachers have taught with in the school throughout our  lifes. We have learnt that books have a lot of negative effects on our lifes and they taught us really different than other teaching methods.

In our comic we reflect the idea of books show us only one opinion, just one perspective in order to understand things whereas the Media show us different opinions and perspectives. That´s why we compared this idea with the story of "Little Red Riding Hood" in which we tell two versions of the story.

To sum up, I think we have a good group. We learn a lot together, we have many creative ideas and we are more than colleagues. We have problems as all the groups have but, in my opinion, we have enough confidence to tell the problem to this specific person  in order to try to resolve it together. We support and help each other as a group, this is the part we have to conserve.

Analyst Post

Hello everybody!!

My name is Julia and I am the analyst this week. I think this role is a very hard one because I have to evaluate my partners and be focus on what they are doing all the time.

This task we have been working this week was about several things. It taught us what Creative Commons Licenses is and how to prepare an oral presentation.

The best part of this activity was learning about licenses and how we have to use them. It is really importat that we all know what kind of pictures we can use. We also have learnt how to do a presentation and that could help us in every presentation we would have to do in our future.

The worst part of the activity was when we went to show the presentation to the teacher, and, even though we thought it was finished and perfect, she told us that we have to change a lot of things, that made us repeat the slideshow again.

The best moment of the week was when we finish all the work, and even though we had to do it again, in my opinion, ours was one of the best presentation of the class.

The worst moment of the week was the instance when the star told us that she had made her own speech and we had to change some little things of the presentation.

Thanks to this task we have learnt that not everything we use for our presentations or our own is free to use, so we have to be careful and repectful with the authors of the pictures that we choose. We also have learnt how to make a good presentation in order to be successful and not boring.

Even though we did not do it well at first, we have learnt how to divide our work, this is very important in a group, so I think this is something that we should maintain every week.

But I think that we have a little problem with the communication, but nothing that we cannot remedy over time.


I expect the problems to be solved, and the work to be well done in the next tasks.

Presentation with other groups, by the analyst.

This week we had to make an extra task, when we arrived Monday to class our teacher told us we had to get together with two other groups (SevenUp and ItSchool) and make our three jobs just one. The three stars had to make a joint exhibition with a maximum duration of eight minutes.

As I was the analyst of my group, I look at analyst of the other two groups and discuss with them some things about his work, such as how they had done the job, how would you assess this task...

About what seemed to me to work with other groups, could have been better. We had little time to organize all our content (30 minutes) and the star of each group wanted to do his own work as it was best know each other. This was a major problem organization, which derive in slowness, lack of control, boredom and outdated presentation, which resulted incomplete because we are out of time.

Beacuse this wasn't be a good experience work with other groups this week, but we are sure we will not return this to happen. This error has helped us to correct our way of organization and we are sure that next time we will do much better.

ANALYST POST

Hi guys, welcome again to our blog!

I am Lucia, my role of this week has been analyst, I had to look for on the way in which my colleagues worked and they made their tasks, then I can evaluate them through a series of criteria.

To explain how has been our week, I will answer a series of questions:

1.       What was the best part of the activity?

The best part of the task has been learning new things, which are also important for us, such as the three map projections by Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal. We have also studied how the media impacts in the children’s lifes, and finally we have known a very good way to teach our students, the treasure hunt.

2.       What was the worst part of the activity?

The worst part of the job was when Monday we went to expose our work and the teacher informed us that we should do something extra. We had to get together with two other groups and make all our work one, so the stars in each of the groups had to expose together for eight minutes. For us was a big problem the organization and set the time. Eight minutes passed very quickly and did not give us time to finish our work exposing, so stay quite incomplete and somewhat dated.

3.       What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)?

The best moment of the week about our teamwork was when we realized that the perception of the world we knew was wrong, our faces were the best part of wonder and fascination. Besides we were able to discuss which of the three projections was the most suitable for teaching children, we had several points of view and was very nice look all together to a conclusion in which we were all in agreement.

4.       What was the worst moment of the week (in the work of the group)?

The worst time of the week was when Thursday after having done most of the work (we had a Prezi for the three projections of maps and shaped puzzle poster for the treasure hunt) we showed to Linda and she told us that that was wrong, it was not what we had been demanded to do on the task. So we had to start over from the beginning.

5.       What have you learnt?

This week we learned many useful things that we are both in our daily life as it comes to teach. the first thing is the three different projections Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal, with its distortions, comparing them with the example of several countries and understanding on why there is each of them. We have also learned a new way to explain to children in a strong and funny way, so they pay more attention, the treasure hunt. Finally, we know that children are strongly influenced by the media, and we as educators must teach the difference between fiction and reality.

6.       What do you need to conserve -as a group- for the next weeks?

We have to preserve our way of working together in dynamic manner without internal problems in the group. We also have to preserve our way of organizing, which so far has helped us to successfully complete our tasks. Finally, we need to preserve our optimism as though all our work was wrong, we got to work and got finalized.

7.       What do you need to improve –as a group- for the next weeks?

For next tasks we must understand what the teacher is asking us and if we have any doubts we should to ask to the teacher, so that we are clear about our work and does not happen again what happened to us this week.

8.       How this content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?

With what we've seen so far on our level, we can relate this content to the subject of sociology of education, since in this course we saw the impact of media on children and how it affected their daily lives, as they are modeled starting from what they see, and they believe all the fiction they see on television for example

Regarding the projections of maps, I guess we will see next year as we have the subject of geography.

9.       There is any evident social connection of this content (news, politics, etc.)?

We can relate these contents with various social and political issues. For example, projected maps have a strong political influence as some show much larger developed countries than they actually are like the case of Europe, Russia and the United States. On media we can also see political influence, as some magazines or distort reality television channels depending on their ideals. About society, especially children, the media affects them because they believe everything they see on television and may even imitates violent acts.

As for my role as analyst I have to say I liked having the power to assess my colleagues, I have also learned to evaluate basing on criteria.

Analyst Post

Hello everybody and welcome to our blog!!

Related to the activity of this week, which aim is know about TPACK.

My name is Maria Garcia Alcaraz and in this first task my role is "Analyst". The work of the analyst consist on evaluate the work of the group.

In order to talk about every aspect of this week, firstly, I am going to comment what was the best part of the activity.

The best part of the activity is the moment of the exposition, when the star of our group, who is able as the rest of the members of the group, to explain and show the work that we have done during all the week.  We feel good and pride about the result of our own work after a lot of hours.

In contrast, the worst part of the activity is when we have to go the whole group at the same time, place due to each member live in a different part of the city. As an alternative we thought about make an online video conference but we rather work all together.

The best moment of the week was when we finally understand what was TPACK, what each one had to do and the moment in which we finished the manual work

The worst moment of the week was the first day because we didn't know exactly what we had to do, what did TPACK mean, we had doubts about every part of the work, but little by little, we have solved all this doubts and problems helping one to each other. Due to it is the first task, we didn't divide the work well at all and two days before, we had to make the majority of the work with stress.

With this task we have learnt what is TPACK, that is something new for all of us, which means that it is an interesting topic to work on, as if we knew what it is, it would be boring for our group.

We also have learnt who to do each role, the way we have to prepare it, and many interesting things more.

Related to what we need to conserve our group, we understand as conserving all the members of our group, we need to conserve the way we dialog, we listen to other's ideas or opinion and what is the most important, work with energy and meet when the group is joint.

In this task we were ask to associate the TPACK model with the subjects of our degree of University. We have found the three principal kinds of knowledge in several subjects:

First of all, we have discovered subjects such as research and ICT and school organization and educational resources which have given us technological knowledge. The most important thing we are going (because we have not finish the course) to learn is how to use technology (computers or digital blackboards) correctly at the classroom and what is more, how to caught the attention of our future students with these tools. Also we will learn how to conduct researches and important resources were we have to look for information.

Secondly, we are going to analyze the subjects we can define as pedagogical. Some of them are developmental psychology, sociology of education, educational planning, educational theories and institutions and educational psychology (when we first did this task we thought it was related with content knowledge but in the presentation we realised we were wrong). From our point of view these subjects have taught us how to react with the society, in general, and with our future students, in particular. The knowledge we have acquire is going to help us to face all kind of problems in our daily live at school.

Finally (but not least important), oral and written communication in English and in Spanish for the primary classroom have gave us content knowledge, that is, the content we need to know in terms of transmitting it to our future students.

There is obviously a social connection of the content of the activity with daily social life. It is connected  to the news, to newspapers,  and the influence increase proportionally  to the passing of time.

Technology is present every day because we have Internet on our personal mobile and we are almost the whole day using it.

As future teachers we are going to use technologies every day and more and more each year, because pupils grow with technologies embedded in their life.

ABOUT MY ROLE: "Analyst".

This week my role is the Analyst, I have to mark the each member's work and evaluate how we have worked during  this week.  I have learnt to evaluate based in some criteria and it is good when you have the power to decide the mark that each member of the group have to receive in a fair way.
