Work Post

The topic we chose for the oral exposition was about the resources of energies and this is the speech we prepare before the star´s exposition:

ENERGY.

·         What is energy?

Energy is the capacity bodies have to change or to produce changes so, for example, to light a bulb we need energy.

·         Where does energy come from?

Energy can come from different sources.

Some of them are renewable, that is, nearly inexhaustible, as sun, wind or water.

Other are non-renewable, that means they can be found on limited quantities and they will eventually run out as we use them, such as coal or oil

·         Which energy sources are renewable?

The energy coming from the sun, wind and water.

Light energy: is produced by the sun. It’s our main energy source since life in the Earth depend on it with solar panels we change solar energy into electricity energy.

Wind energy: is the energy moving air has when wind moves windmill’s sails it get transforms into electricity.

Hydraulic energy: is the one provided by water in movement. The water kept in reservoirs is used to generate electricity on power stations.

·         Which energy sources are non-renewable? Coal, oil and gas.

Coal: is a black rock made up of plants and trees died millions of years ago. Coal can be found under the Earth’s surface and to obtain it we dig mines. When it got burnt neat is send at.

Oil: is a dark liquid made up died little organism which used to live under the sea millions of years ago. Oil can be found on big oil wells to obtain it.

Natural gas: as oil, it can be found on national deposits. A great quantity of heat is produce when natural gas gets burnt. It’s actually used at home to cook.

Using non-renewable energy sources causes pollution and can harm the environment, meanwhile, renewable energy sources cause less pollution.

·         What can we do to save energy and reduce pollution?

We can help from our homes:

Turning off the lights when we leave our room or another room with nobody in it.

Not leaving fridge’s door too much time opened, because inside products get less cold and fridge waste move energy.

Here you have the storyboard we made in order to do a good slideshow and the slideshow we did about energy:

Besides, we had to look for information about Creative Commons license and we had to do a slideshow about what is Creative Commons:

On the other hand, this week all of us had to be ready to listen for our classmates and we has the opportunity to learned lots of things:
First of all, we need to be more close to our students, and explain everything in an easy way so that the syllabus could be as a game for them (as BusyBees did).
Also, it is really important not to fulfil the slides with lots of information but do it with pictures so information can be internalised. When we use images it is important to write who did the photo (what it easy with creative common).
In a nutshell, we had learned lots of things with our own mistakes but also with the ones of our mates. Now it is time to be more efficient in the next task.

Lots of love!
