Making photos as a good Journalist.

Hello bloggers. 

I am Lucia, this past week I have the role of journalist. For me it is an honor to be your eyes in the activities we have done in this last week.

We had to perform four Fakebook profiles of the four types of policy there.
Monday when we got to school, Linda was a sweepstakes and the four profiles were divided into different groups. They came together in pairs different class groups.
Then we prepared and conducted a debate in which the two stars of the groups exposed their ideas about their type of politician, being defending his candidacy and attacking the other candidates.
Here I leave some of the photos taken, the preparation of applications for our profile, authoritarian, with the SevenUP group, and the representation in the discussion of our stars Maria, and Ana de SevenUP.

Hello, and wellcome to The Powerpuff Teachers blog! I am the Journalist this week.

The aim of the wark of this week was to create a video talking and solving the stuation that other group have gave us. Power Teachers was that group.

We met on wednesday, that day all of us came to my house and eat all together, so we didn't miss a minute, a almost inmidiatly, we started to work. As we all had already read the law and the coexistence plan of one school, we started thinking how we solve this problem. In order to save time, Lucia and Ana started to record while the rest though the solution. Then we want to a school near my house to record the rest of the video. Once we have finished we all came back to our homes.

We decided to assambly tha video in class, but I have all the video, because the camera is mine. I was very ill that day so I didn't go to class. I felt very guilty so I assambled it. As I was doing it, I thought about puting subtitles so it can be understand, so I divided the videos, and the other made it.

Once it was finished I uploaded it to Youtube, and also I save it in a pen drive.

On monday, we saw all the videos. At first we started to comment out loud the videos and what were their three good things, and also what we missed. But we were very slow at first, so we saw the last videos without talking about them. After that, Linda told us to go on our class videos and coment with the three good things and one bad. It was hard due to the quality of all the videos, but all of us have something to improve.

Future teacher or future journalist?

Hello guys, we are almost finishing the semester and this week it was time to do the only one role I have never tried. All my colleagues have told me that this role it is one of the most funny and enjoyable so I was wondering to do it.

This third step has been difficult to do it... well... maybe difficult it is not the word, it has been different because between the beginning and the presentation of the work we have had two weeks of not being in Murcia and not seeing each other, I mean we couldn’t meet and we had to do the questions on our own.

Our facilitator decided that the best way was to start doing the questions the better we could and then shares them one day through Skype and so we did it. The big problem was that we have very different traditions and while some of our colleagues from Murcia were full of activities during the spring week, I had several processions in holy week. Finally we got to choose one day when all of us could share the questions. We decided what of them were OK and what questions we had to change due to the difficulty or just because we thought that they were not good enough.

After this process, we divided the activities of printing, cutting and pasting the cards among some of us. Finally on Monday (thanks to our hard working) we got some good cards for sharing.

On Monday Linda surprised us with another activity in groups in which we had to punctuate the questions of all the class in the topic we were assigned. I have been working on the topic 3 with Platyplus while the other half of my group was working with Itschool.

Regarding blogs about education I have discovered a very easy one to understand and really interesting about maths that teachers can have a look so they have more information about this “not easy” subject.

Hello friends, Lucia is here again, but this week my role is Journalist.

First of all, I'll tell you a little what we have done this week.
The task of this week was about our education system, know well our laws and fundamentals is very important to be good teachers.

We had to make two mind map about two points of the six that were available. Linda's divided so that we had to do point 3. Organization of Primary Education and 6. Administration and Governance at Local and / or Institutional Level (II).

 

We divided into two groups to do the job, we readed all the information and summarize it, and then we organized the work of carrying out the mind map into two groups , the first did the point 3 and the second point 4. As we are seven in our group, we divided into working groups of three, and the star was involved in both groups. The organization of the groups was made taking into account the days that could meet because some of us Thursday we went to our people.

 

We got together Tuesday to point three...

 

... And Wednesday for the sixth point.

 

 

On Monday when we arrived to class, Linda commanded us a new task. We had to come together with other groups. Our group received visitors of Platypus group and star of ItSChool group. Julia, our star worked with the group of ItSChool. We had to evaluate the mindmap we had done. Then we had to choose the one we liked and add or remove items considered necessary to make it great.

The experience of this week to work with other groups has been good because we were able to assess our own mistakes, comparing them with other work of our colleagues. But also it has also been difficult to agree with the assessment.

You know that I'll be your PAPARAZZI!!!

Hello everybody! I am Inma and this week I am the journalist of the PowerPuffTeachers.

This week we had to make a video about what we have learnt on this part of this subject. It has been as a review of everything we have learnt. We used the program Moovly because we think it is more complete, there are more effects and we liked it more than Powtoon.

In the video we have wanted to share with us in a funny and creative way the things we have learnt so, we represented this as a story, that is I thought in a job interview in order to find the perfect teacher in which three people who represented the three main parts of TPACK tell to the interviewer what kind of things can offer to the school. Therefore, the man who represented technology tell all the things that we have learnt about it (YouTube, Blog, ComicLife, Mindmap...). The second man represented pedagogy and he tell all the things related to pedagogy (Work in groups, listen, roles, share ideas, organize...). The last man represented content and he tell the things related to it (TPACK,Treasure Hunt, The dark side of the books...). At the end, the three men put on top of themselves and the result is the perfect teacher related to the combination of the three main components ( Technology, Pedagogy and Content) ant it gives room to TPACK.

In order to make this video we have had to meet twice because Moovly is a complicated program that we had never used before and it is a bit tiresome because of the time. For example, if you want to change something at the beginning of the video we have to move the whole video. Moreover, you can not copy any part of the video so we had to make it one by one.

We were nervous because we have been working so hard in this video and we also wanted to win the competition.

Then, the day arrived... I loved the class we did on Monday, it was really funny and it serve to review all the things we have learnt. Every star explained what were the reasons why they had to win an we saw all the videos, some were really creative, for others were not so creative and original anymore.

Now, I want to share to us some funny and importants moments of this week and this activity:

The Boss in action: This is Julia, the facilitator of this week, who was in charge to organise the activity and the things we had to do.

       

        Here, we can see how the PowerPuff are working so hard (Well, we had some breaks too).

They are the facilitators of each group and they are also representatives in charge of telling the marks of every video. Julia who is in the middle of this collage represented the PowerPuffTeachers from Townsville.

They are our collaborators and transalators of the competition. Two of them had to put the marks on the blackboard and the other two had to translate into Spanish and French the marks which each group gave to the videos.

The facilitators of It´school and Seven Up following the Eurovisión format in order to tell the marks of our videos. They had to point the videos from 3 to 12, giving 12 points to the video they liked the most.

 When we have received 12 points and the funny reaction of Lucía, one of the members of the PowerPuff.

We are closer to know the mark of the rest of the judge, in other words the marks that Linda, three teachers who are at the university and three teachers who are not teaching at the university give us the marks of our videos. We are impatient!!!!

Regarding some blogs I have been looking into, I have found a really interesting one. It´s about children with special needs so we can find information about how to teach children with special needs, different ways for they to learn in a funny and in a better way, investigations about whether children with this kind of needs learn better playing than in other way or not...

I think we must not forgive these children because they need to have the same opportunity to learn than the others and therefore, achive the integration of this kind of children in society. That is why I have chosen this blog.

Journalist by Maria!

Hi everybody! I am María García and this week my role is... Journalist!! 

This week we have been working on a very interesting and real task. This one is not written or you can find it on books due to it is related to the "Dark side of books".

Well, now my mission is to tell the history of the group, I have to tell the dynamic of the weekly work and recover evidences.

First of all, I have to say that this week we met twice. The first one it was a bit waste of time due to a bad organization of the group, the activity of this week consisted on choose one of three options (Comic, twitter timeline or infographic) and we decided that the best option was an infographic.

That day we spend at least three hours making brainstorming and finally we acquired a good idea but it does not convince us at all because it was dull even boring. Those idea was not adecuate to represent our own personal potential so that day was a bit disappointing.

Two days after, once we listen to our teacher Linda in class, we come up with the idea of change our work completely. So we thought to work in a comic. This comic had to be related us, to primary education and with the task of this week.

(It was my birthday, these teachers are the BEST!)

With this base, we thought to represent one of the high number of bad things of textbooks with the classical story of the "Little Red Ridding Hood".

And after some difficulties, as every week we achieve our goal at time, so the previous monday everything was prepare to exhibit our "piece of art" in the Group's 1 Gallery; where our Star (Ana Góngora) was brilliant.

In addition, as journalist this week I have to explore, at least one blog/website from outside the class and one from our own class. 

So, I have been searching on the Internet for long time and at the end I have found a Blog which ir quite interesting at least for those who are interesting in education. That blog has losts of post but for me one of the most stand out is "10 Practical Ways To Use Apps In Primary Mathematics Teaching". Here you have its direcction. Visit it! Is very interesting.

WITH CAMERA IN HAND

Hello everybody!

I am Carmen Carpena and this week I am the journalist of the group ThePowerPuffTeachers and I am going to explain all the things we did.

First at all, in Monday morning, we distributed the roles after the expositions. Tuesday evening we met at Lucia's house and we were working on the different PowerPoints we had to do and we were reading how to do a good presentation too.

We had already done almost all the PowerPoints when we realized that we had done it bad because we had not used images with Creative Commons Licence, so we had to repeat some slides we had done with new images.

Everything was perfect but we realized that we had not done the work well again and we had to resolve it on Sunday.

Although this work has been a bit chaotic we had achieved to expose it well and we are very proud of ourselves.

With this work I have learnt some interesting things that I didn't know like if I want a photo, I have to download it from a page that has image with Creative Commons Licence.

From my point of view, I really enjoyed this role because, while I was working I was taking photos of all my colleages and some photos were really funny.

Hi. My name is Mari Carmen. I’m this second week’s journalist.

Comparing my role to my last week’s one, this seems much more involving, since I have being all the time taking care of taking pictures and writing down everything we did. Now I’m going to explain you how was my experience during this long week.

After distribute the roles on Monday 16th February in the morning, once finish TPACK expositions, we did our first gathering. We met in the evening at Lucia’s flat. We finished last week posts and start reading, understanding and investigating a bit the work for second week. That night the facilitator divided the work among all us, so that next meet we could go faster.

So, for our second appointment, on Wednesday 18th February we know what to do more concretely. Once we exactly know which information look for, we worked in a quite organized way and we moved forward more quickly. We thought of doing a puzzle, so some of my mates went out and bought cardboard and colors. But unfortunately, next day we were told it wouldn’t be useful to explain Treasure Hunt. We had to restart, and divide task and redo the whole process. We also did a prezzi, and Lucia work a lot for it, but finally we couldn’t use to explain the different projection thing. That evening we also had another struggle. It take us a long discussion to clear up what “media is not neutral” really means. But, finally, we thought in comparing it to Disney Princess. Using their images for learning vocabulary can be a good idea, due to kids fancy on then. But this images also represent a stereotype reality where girls just should look pretty.


Next day, Thursday 19th, in the morning we made our third gathering at the Aulario’s cafeteria. We keep on doing the puzzle and we’ve nearly got it structured. When we arrived to class, Linda explained us what exactly was a Treasure Hunt. So, we thought our puzzle wouldn’t be representative enough to explain it. That afternoon the half of our group was leaving to their home town.  Time was running!! We took the decision of making power point to best display our work. And between classes, we thought and write on a paper what would contain each slide. So that we just have to type it on the computer and add our previously select images.

Then, on Thursday night, María start jointing and giving it some form. We dicided who was going to be in charge of each slide, so that everybody could do something. And finally, after hours and hours of work, on Friday evening we got our work ready for Monday’s exposition.

Monday 20th  arrived, it was time to display our work to the rest of the classroom. But instead of doing it by groups, Linda, our teacher, tell us to make three big groups made of three groups each. She gave us half an hour to coordinate all three groups’ exposition and star’s explanation in one. That broke our plans. We had to mix in a single exposition. We succeed to gather all our info and coordinate it. But we run out of time. It was a pity, because we had work a lot for things that were not even show. But, we have learnt something for it. For next week the word will be TIME!!!
